Power Quotient International Co., Ltd. (PQI) officially announces 2.5" SATAII SSD X25M. Comparing to a 2.5" 7200rpm drive with approximately 60MB/sec write speed and 80MB/sec read speed. PQI's X25M has a maximum read speed of 250MB/sec and a maximum write speed of 70MB/sec. Apart from its ultra fast read speed, its idle power consumption is rated at 0.06W and operating power consumption is rated at 0.15W. According to tests, it translates into roughly 30% extra usage time on laptops. The X25M is available in 80GB or 160GB capacities and it comes with a two-year warranty.
PQI's 2.5" SATA II SSD X25M uses Intel SSD utilizing MLC flash modules and is rated with a 0.85ms access time latency.
